Voices never heard

Leyland Adams

This piece combines abstract and figurative to create a very surreal narrative that speaks to civil unrests of the past and present. The painting references railroad companies and freight train markings, a nude figure melting into the abstract background. The words "voices never heard" refers to the lost lives spent building the railroad as well as the voices of those whose lives have been lost presently over social injustice.
