These artists and artworks have transformed Toronto’s public streets, laneways and parks into a city-wide art gallery! The current exhibit provides a small sampling of artwork created as part of the StreetARToronto (StART) suite of programs from 2012 to 2020. Individually and collectively StART artworks are designed to celebrate the City of Toronto motto Diversity Our Strength and foster a greater sense of belonging among all. Murals have become local focal points, symbols of community pride, and inspiring reminders of the cooperation and dedication that made their creation possible. Street art and artists bring neighbours together through artistic engagement and give voice to community members including those who too often go unheard. Through this urban art form, StART invites citizens into a conversation about the impact and importance of art in the public realm.
